Not even a whisper was spoken about ROHAN PURVES (158) before RD23 this year, but 1x PERFECT round on his JOKER has changed all that and look at him now! No doubt the biggest accomplishment of his life clinging on to first place in the RJAN Tipping Comp for 2022 and claiming the $1000 prize pool! However an “anonyms” tipster (lets call him JOLE.X) has suggested an investigation needs to be raised as to why ROHAN didn’t tip his beloved STORM, which proved to be the deciding game in him taking out the prestigious first place!
Odds on favorite and previous RJAN Tipping Comp winner JOEL GRAINGER (155) looked to be the first person to take out the top honors twice… until he was gob-smacked by what can only be described at the “The Great ROHAN Ambushed of 2022”. JOEL claimed the out right second place price pool of $200 as he managed to hold out MATT SAUNDERS (154) in third place.
A massive thank you goes out to MADISON EXPRESS as always for getting behind the RJAN Tipping comp. Each year we seem to grow and Madison is a huge part of that. Without them the RJAN Footy Tipping Comp would not be the juggernaut it is today… I mean sure I’d probably have a little more free time of a Monday/Tuesday morning but we would definitely not have such a lucrative first prize ($1000) for a FREE tipping comp. Honourable mention goes to PAUL “I Finished on the First Page” CORBETT (152) who graceful decided to “let” someone else win this year… what a top bloke!
Specials mentions goes to:
- NATHAN “The Messiah” WILLIAMSON who rose like a like a phoenix from the ashes and used an illegal 2nd JOKER to come equal 22nd… well done?
- TRENT BOYD for the most creative perfect round I’ve ever seen (which I may or may not have stole and used in an inferior tipping comp)
- ADAM FULLAGAR who challenged me to a battle of wits!… however I declined as he was obviously unarmed
- DANIEL STOJCEV2KI who shall now be known as number 2 [insert Dr.Evil Laugh here]
- SHAUN McELLIGOTT proving the TIGERS aren’t the only one who can win a wooden spoon
Thanks again for a stellar year! The banter has been nothing short of entertaining and it was makes running this comp so enjoyable… especially the extra “love” and “support” I get shown week-in/week-out from the Manly collective. Hope to see you all back next year.
